The kids will have a pregame performance, then be able to cheer the first half of a Thursday night Varsity football game. Coaches will let you know what time to arrive to the game for the performance! The clinic includes two practice days, cheering at a Varsity game, a tshirt and a bow! Intro to Cheer - 2nd GradeYouth RecreationIs your athlete interested in starting their cheer journey? Our Intro to Cheer Clinic for 2nd graders is the perfect place to begin! With growing interest and excitement around the Saline Cheer program, there’s no better time for young athletes to get involved and learn what cheerleading is all about. This 6-week clinic is designed to introduce athletes to the fundamentals of cheerleading in a fun, supportive environment. Participants will learn basic motions, chants, jumps, and beginner skills while also focusing on the proper and safe techniques used in cheerleading. Our goal is to help athletes build confidence, teamwork, and school spirit while having fun with their peers. Athletes will also get the opportunity to be part of the larger Saline Cheer program experience by participating in special events throughout the season. Program Highlights Learn the basics of cheerleading in a beginner-friendly setting Build confidence, teamwork, and school spirit Participate in the Homecoming Parade and Tunnel with the entire Saline Cheer program on September 25 Cheer the first half of the JV game on October 22 alongside the middle school cheer team What’s Included Saline Cheer t-shirt Cheer bow Pom poms (provided to borrow during the season) Athlete Requirements Athletes must provide their own cheerleading shoes. The Spring Learn & Play program is designed to help young athletes build confidence, develop fundamental skills, and fall in love with the game in a supportive environment. Over five 1-hour sessions, players will learn the basics of field hockey through engaging drills, small-sided games, and team-building activities. Athletes will focus on essential skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, positioning, and teamwork — all while having fun and making new friends.
