Saline Middle School Swim & DiveYouth RecreationMiddle school swimming and diving is for those students who may be interested in learning more about the sport in a positive team environment. The season will focus on all aspects of competitive swimming and diving. The team is for 6th, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls attending Saline Middle School. This exciting season will consist of several dual meets and will end with the MISCA meet. Calendars with dates and times for practices and meets will be distributed and posted closer to the beginning of the season, pending release of the meet schedule. Saline eSports TeamYouth EnrichmentAre you a gamer who would like to have fun, make friends, and compete? Want to try to win a State Championship in your favorite titles? Then join the Saline Esports Team and compete against other high schools in Fortnite, Valorant, Marvel Rivals, NBA2K, Madden, Splatoon 3, Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8, and possibly other titles! Learn to work as a team and build friendships through competitive gaming. You can compete in as many titles as you like, pending they do not overlap. There is a fall season and a spring season you can choose from if you have other sports or extracurriculars, and you can compete during both seasons at a discounted price! Youth Recreation Basketball LeagueYouth RecreationThe purpose of the Community Education Basketball League is to provide students with an opportunity to learn and develop basketball skills, play games in an organized setting, understand good sportsmanship and teamwork, and have fun! These leagues have been created for both the beginning and the experienced player — no previous experience is required. This league is open to all boys in grades 1-8 and girls in grades 1-6 (we do open to 7th grade girls as well, but we do not typically get a lot of 7th graders joining as the SMS season begins in January). The league will be divided into grade level divisions - these divisions will be divided based on numbers of registrations in each grade. Once-a-week practices begin the week of January 4. Please indicate days you cannot practice at time of registration. Registration deadline is Wendesday, November 18. Games are Saturdays - January 23, 30, February 6, 20, 27. There are no games over Martin Luther King weekend or President’s Day weekend. There will be 5 weeks of games and 8 weeks of practices. Players need a jersey to participate in this league. Returning players may use their jersey from last year. New jerseys can be purchased with United Image Group at SalineSpirit.com. WaitlistYouth Winter Competitive Cheer ClinicYouth RecreationJoin us this winter learning the basics of girls’ competitive cheer. This clinic is open to girls in 3rd-5th grade and will teach beginner and intermediate cheer skills including stunting, tumbling, precision motions and jumps. Practices will be held in the Middle School Wrestling room 5:30-7:00PM, Mondays and Wednesdays and the Friday before the performance! Athletes will be taught a competitive cheer routine, that follows the MHSAA rules for Middle School. This is in the style of Middle School competitive cheer in Michigan. We will spend practices learning a precision routine with stunting that they will perform at the Saline Competitive Cheer Competition on Saturday, January 16, 2027. Home practice over the holiday breaks will be required.Fall 2026
