The team will compete in 7–9 competitions, typically held on Thursday evenings or Saturdays, with a possible Friday event. All practices are mandatory. What is Michigan Competitive Cheer? Michigan competitive cheer has three judged rounds, all performed without music: Round 1 (JV/Varsity only): Group chant with motions and voice projection Round 2: Motions, jumps, and standing tumbling Round 3: Tumbling, stunting, and jumps Only 16 athletes can compete per round. If 10 qualify for Round 2, then only 14 can be in Round 3. We cannot guarantee every athlete will compete in each round or both rounds, but everyone learns all rounds to stay prepared.
